YOUTH COACHING

MY APPROACH

I help young people navigate moments of transition, clarify decisions, and move forward with greater confidence and direction.

My work focuses on listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and helping clients identify possibilities to hone in on an approach that feels right for them.

ABOUT ME

In addition to being a YCI-certified coach, I'm a third-generation artist and educator and an Emmy Award–winning documentarian and storyteller.

I came to coaching the same way I came to filmmaking: through a genuine interest in how people figure things out. I don't tell anyone what to do — I help people hear themselves more clearly so they can make thoughtful choices about what comes next.

My work has included creating programming for young people for PBS and Nickelodeon, as well as directing films for network television and HBO.

Documentary filmmaking requires patience, curiosity, and the ability to listen deeply — sometimes over years — to understand someone's story and find the best way to tell it.

I bring that same practice to coaching.

WHAT IS COACHING

Coaching is a collaborative process that helps you articulate what matters, sort through decisions, and take practical steps toward what comes next. It is not advice or instruction.

WHAT COULD BE BETTER?

Where therapy often focuses on healing the past, coaching is oriented toward the present — working with where you are and helping you move with intention to define your goals and make improvements. Therapy works with what's broken; coaching takes what is working and makes it better.
